Fuck Lewis Black
seriously, the man used to be a funny comic and a serious (although at times grating) social commentator but it seems hes out of ideas or about to die, since he released a 21 YEAR OLD CD.
whats the excuse for a comic thats still alive and possibly making material to put out a 21 year old release, with jokes on Ronald Reagan? And its not like its some label thats scraping the bottom of the barrel, like it happened with Pryor, Carlin or Hicks. The guy is still working. Sad. |

its an old bootleg thats outdated and goofy. if youre into him, you get the old albums. this one is the equivalent of "the unreleased recordings". plus he isnt dead or unable to do new stuff. this is a ripoff.

well not a rip-off but definitely a bottomo scraping, scumbag, money milking move. if it wasnt a comedy album, it would be named as such. but no oen givesx a shit about comedy, no one buys the albums, so everything is ok.

I can certainly see the money milking aspect, but he might as well offer it and try to get paid for some work he did, right? Or is this offensive from an artist's point of view? Which I don't have.
Imagine Keith (to give an example we both know) hadn't sold his first, idk, 3 stand-up cd's, but had still recorded them. Then people got into his newer releases, I bet you would love for him to release his earlier stuff. Totally different? |

i heard this one, its more like he released an unfinished bootleg edition of "coming of age" with badly recorded versions the final jokes but in an unfinished manner.
most of the stuff on "prophet" is jokes he does in later albums but done worse and with a worse sound quality. only they market it as "the origins" |

it has been done with hicks or carlin or hedberg but it was after they were dead and it was regarded as a sleazy exploitation move.
if Black does it, its just weird and creepy honestly. |

You seem to have really hard turns. So Lewis Black has a CD you don't care for so much. So the fuck what?
If I like a band that put out amazing albums and then put out a demo compilation that is redundant and worthless, I wouldn't care. If a band I don't like does the same thing, so what? I don't see how this could materially alter your opinion of Lewis Black. Yeah, he wants you to give him money. That's not new. |
