Actually Vista is really good. It is NT version 6.0. XP is NT version 5.1. Windows 2000 is NT version 5.0. Windows 7.0 is NT version 6.1.
There were a few decisions MS made about Vista's default configuration that were quite frankly stupid. Their approach to UAC and things like Superfetch, and indexing could affect a systems performance especially with 1 gig or less of memory. On Vista I always turn off UAC, Superfetch, and adjust the indexing options to my liking. I am currently using Windows 7.0 and it's default configuration of UAC, Superfetch and indexing is working fine for me. Windows 7.0 is like Vista with refinement and better choices for it's default configuration. Plus it gets all the benefits of the drivers that have been updated for Vista, unlike Vista which had to suffer from people trying to use drivers that weren't designed for Vista. If anyone on this thread needs assistance with getting issues resolved, I can do my best to help. Just e-mail me. Junkenstein I should be able to help you get your DVD back. I have been working with this stuff for years. I am OS agnostic. On my laptop I have Vista, Ubuntu, and Win 7. On my desktop I have Win 7 and Ubuntu, and on my Mac Mini I have OSX and Ubuntu. Bruce |

Vista can suck my balls. Why the fuck is DevIL.dll not there? Why does every default game crash after 10 seconds of play? Why isn't it letting me change my fucking IP so I can use the internet? Is there a default "fuck you" program that I didn't know about?

1. Was Vista installed on the computer when you bought it? What version is it? 2. Has this always happened or did it start happening after you made a change? 3. What is the error when it crashes? Bruce |
