All the more reason to push power back to the several states. People can vote with their feet and you have 50 evolving experiments in democracy.

same here which is why I just had to type it on here.. And this is on regular CBS TV. How can people see this, any demographic see this, and still think she's a credible candidate for VP??? This is a complete atrocity and a sham on the political system. It's no wonder that there is this July poll that says like 18 or so % of the people in this country would like to secede from the union and just start from scratch (Dan Carlin actually mentions it in his last episode of Common Sense and I just had to print it out to read it for myself).

Not to mention the sham that is McCain's efforts to help with the bailout and not politicize it by taking photo-ops and then crapping on all the effort and work that was put into the bill these past few days (and even though he knew about the legislation last Friday, he only read it a few days ago) by sliding in an alternative option at the last minute and then not showing up for the night meeting thereby just messing the whole thing up (and finally giving him a valid excuse *cough* escape *cough* for not showing up to tonight's debate).

Sure, but the laws and levels of government would vary a lot more from state to state. That way if you really were a super greenie and were digusted with everyone else, you could just move to Vermont. If you really believed in open carry laws, home brew, and no drug prohibition ... move to New Hampshire. Want subsidized healthcare, no offshore drilling, medical marijuana and public school for illegal immigrants ... California might be the place for you. If you're a fan of Sullivan's Law, mass transit, and ... you get the idea ... move to New York.

It should still the United States of America, but with a lot of decisions pushed down and out to the several states. Your vote, either by moving or by ballot would count for a lot more and individuals would have a lot more choices that they could make.

This really pissed me off today

So I was listening to Democracy Now and they interviewed David Cay Johnston, author or "Free Lunch" and well lets just say it was a bit frustrating. Here's a link to the transcript of the new segment if you'd like to read it. I tried to copy and paste it on here but the length was too long. Needless to say its a more detailed explanation about how us citizens were hoodwinked by Paulson & Co.
