I'm not a huge horror fan but if want something Japanese and disturby, I'll never be the same after watching "Suicide Club". Japanese school girls kill themselves in large numbers. *shudder* This should never ever happen.

If you don't mind watching subtitled stuff, modern french and japanese horrors are amazing:

-Martyrs

YouTube - Martyrs trailer

-Frontiere(s)

YouTube - Frontière(s) - Trailer

-Audition

YouTube - Audition Trailer

-Three extremes (especially the "Dumplings" segment)

YouTube - Three... Extremes (Trailer - ENG)

Also my beloved country, Italy, is also the birthplace of three horror masters: Dario Argento (Watch his early stuff, his later film suck bad), Mario Bava and Lucio Fulci...

I love good horror so i'll post more as soon as i recollect the titles

The director of Suicide Club, Sion Sono, did another movie called "Strange Circus which is even freakier:

I won't say it's an horror movie. More of a weird, grotesque, fetish-y surreal thriller. kinda like david lynch but more sick and sexually perverted.

Ah, japan... Sigh...

I wholeheartedly second "Cube" & "Oldboy". "Haute Tension" is good as well, though the "twist" at the end makes a good chunk of the movie make no sense whatsoever.
