Yep! Vaginal depth (which is determined by the location of the cervix) also varies over the course of a woman's monthly cycle. During a woman's period the vagina is the most shallow (the cervix is low), and can be as shallow as 1-2 inches. This is why doctors prefer to implant IUDs on the first or second day of your period. its much easier and less painful.

And as mentioned above, when you are aroused your cervix recedes an additional few inches, to make room for the D. I wish girls were taught this in sex ed. When I first started fucking (in HS) I did not understand that if I was aroused my vagina would undergo major conformational changes*, and that to enjoy sex, these things needed to happen. In HS I had lots of unpleasant (sometimes painful) sex do to a lack of arousal.

I have measured my vaginal depth at the start of my period (about 2 inches) and during ovulation (~4 inches). I haven't systematically measured my vagina during arousal, but I've had no trouble taking an XL dildo or a D that required magnum condoms (so long as I was sufficiently aroused).... If you want to measure it yourself, just stick a finger in until you hit your cervix (that hardish smooth surface at the back).
