You and every other Aussie, because the real national anthem is ho hum (no offence, listen to the Canadian Anthem @@)....just like all the rest.

Waltzing Matilda has a poetry to it that no other anthem can match....and this is from a way outsider so I can imagine how you lot feel.

Yep. Great song - even though it's basically about a homeless thief who steals a sheep and then commits suicide when confronted by the police by jumping into a water hole.

I have yet to meet anyone who routinely uses the word girt in a sentence. It's got about the same level of pretentiousness as "bespoke".
