I'm an Irishman from Dublin, by the way. I'll give you a shot of my blowgun.

First off, thanks to all who took the time to respond. This will help us immensely in our planning. We were definitely going to the west, which from the sounds of it is probably the best for taking in the landscape and much of the culture. As far as Dublin, we are definitely going to spend at least a day and night, maybe more. Probably the last day we are there, which is March 24th. We fly out on the 25th so that will be a rough morning for sure.

Head up the coast to Galway and see the Cliffs of Moher, very popular with tours, or Loophead and Loophead Light, which are just as beautiful and a lot less touristy.

By all means, hit as many pubs as you can. Not so much for the drinking (although I was given my name in Galway), but for the social part. Very different vibe from bars in the U.S. In small towns they're community centers, and getting to know the people is the best part of Ireland.

If you still have time, drive through Connemara. Parts of it are largely deserted because everyone left for the USA in the potato famine. You'll see lots of stone shells of long abandoned houses.

P.S. I can take or leave Dublin, but if you want city, it's there or Cork.

Sláinte, and drink a Beamish for me.

By the way, incredible pics Pintman. Hoping to get some of them myself. I'm probably going to put together a video of the week since I bought a camcorder for this trip specifically.

I'm Irish, but can't really add anything to this!

I live in Dublin and would recommend Grafton Street (pedestrianised fancy part of the city centre), Temple Bar (The Oliver St. John Gogarty pub by night, Temple Bar, Dublin on Flickr - Photo Sharing!) and a definite visit to Croke Park to take in a GAA or soccer game (Ireland's natinoal soccer team will be palying on the 28th).

Deborah, I would love to have you show us how to do it up on St. Patty Day BUT I'm not coming until the 18th (fucking retarded I know). How is the party scene from the 18th to the 25th?
