Cool Just did something cool with the KATG feed + Mac + XBOX 360

Added the feed to my iTunes playlist on my iMac

Enabled wireless media sharing, now the xbox 360 sees all my song, video & image files..

.. so I can now stream the show to my main plasma for the next katg gtg

This is so awesome.. I can basicly rip / download any movie to my mac and stream it to my living room

I used http://www.nullriver.com/index/products/connect360

I'm amazed Micro$oft lets this happen...

since they hate iTunes and all...

I was about to drop $500 on another mac to create a media center, not anymore tho.

Now if I can get the 360 to browse the web.. that would be teh win!

The next trick: When the feed gets turned on, your speakers throughout the house click over to the feed automatically. When the feed is cut off, everything returns to it's normal default settings.

yea the 360 will not browse the web but the wii and ps3 will. The 360 will stream any video, photos, and music for your pc to the console. With the new firmware update on the ps3 and psp, they have a new feature called remote play that will let you acess content on your ps3 from your psp using a wifi connection anywhere

I always thought that you had to have XP MCE specifically to stream to a 360.

I did too, but I'm streaming some large files from my mac... some HD 1080 pixel stuff... along while downloading demos, etc. Pretty crazy.

you only need xp mce to stream on demand movies and tv shows things of that nature. But it has to be windows media player 11. Once you have that installed, your good to go. And it supports almost all movie formats. I'm not to sure about drm music, I haven't tried it yet. But I know its excellent with photos. It's nice to have a slideshow and put some music behind it with little effort. If you have any probs setting it up let me know I just got finished hooking my laptop up.
