KaTG goes to Oktoberfest - Munich
There was a lot of talk about "KaTG goes to Oktoberfest" in the Italy meet-up thread, so I thought I'd bring it here.
The Oktoberfest is, of course, in Munich, Germany. This year it runs from September 20th to October 5th, so we'll need to narrow down the meet-up dates (weekend certainly preferred for me). Interest expressed so far from: Lanfear aptmunich Bebe jorjo Mikey (really Mikey?? )Emelath Apparently the ability to be around obnoxious, drunk, happy, people is important ... So they have started teaching Germans about the Holocaust??? I know for a while they didn't. Oktoberfest is great especially in central Texas where there are a fair number of German communities. Never met a German I didn't like.

We have a pretty awesome Oktoberfest in Tulsa. Plenty of good beer, good food, and good music. What else could you ask for? |

After two visits to camps, 3 talks by survivors and history lessons for your last 3 years at school being about little else, I think it's safe to assume that most Germans under 50 will know more about the topic than some historians. Anyway, enough chitchat! Despite being a welshman, I live in Munich (as you might have guessed by the name), so I'm definitely up for it! A few points of interest:
