It's against the law to say the holocaust didn't happen, but it's been part of the curriculum in school for decades.
After two visits to camps, 3 talks by survivors and history lessons for your last 3 years at school being about little else, I think it's safe to assume that most Germans under 50 will know more about the topic than some historians.

Anyway, enough chitchat!

Despite being a welshman, I live in Munich (as you might have guessed by the name), so I'm definitely up for it!

A few points of interest:
  • The only size Beer you can order in most tents is 1 Litre (= 33,81 US ounces)
  • The girl's traditional garb looks like this
  • One for Patrice: They do the most amazing fried chicken

We have a pretty awesome Oktoberfest in Tulsa. Plenty of good beer, good food, and good music. What else could you ask for?

Yeah, most of Central Texas was colonized by Germans and there is still a large German influence in the area. They do Oktoberfest in New Braunfels every year coinciding with the dates it takes place in Germany. I know it isn't the same as being in Munich, but really it is in the spirit of the celebration where the fun is. They were selling beer by the litre when I went a few years back, but with our group we just kept getting pitcher ofter pitcher.

Oh and jorjo, most German beers are still tastey even if they get a little warm.
