Keith Malley, the new Andy Rooney?
As I was listening to Keet rant about Foursquare and iPhone places on episode 1238 it occurred to me: he sounds a lot like Andy Rooney! He is starting to sound like a grumpy old man dissing all the new technology. Any one else think that?

isnt his ironic grumpiness and comical dissing of stuff one of the points of his style?
Also he has an iphone and uses a computer, that prevents from the old-man-ization (that could still happen though. It's happening to me too...) As for foursquare.... Sorry but it is a creepy thing. Probably well intentioned, but creepy. |

If there is someone you know who might actually consider breaking into your house, do you really want someone like that on your FaceBook friends list? |

I'd say yes, but not because of that. How many times do you hear Keith say "I know I've said it before but...". I think continually complaining/making jokes about the same thing over and over are much more old man-like traits. We get it, the people who set up the ring at wrestling events need to clean up better....

I re-activated Facebook for work reasons, and got some long distance friendships there too but i dislike sereing ex-schoolmates, real life friends or girlfriends there. It still makes me feel awkward i am a very social person but i also need total privacy and control over it, like air. I'm the kinda guy who when he's off work kjeeps his cell phone off all time. Not sayin i'm right, i just fear stalkers. |

I agree with you Junk. There was a local story in the news here about a girl that got stalked using 4square. He called the restaurant she was at and asked for her by name and description. When she got to the phone, he just said, "Hi Sheri, maybe you should be more careful about what you tell people online." then he hung up. The next day she received a very detailed death threat on her blog.
I don't think anything else has happened, but you can't help but think, "what do you expect when you put ALL your personal info online?". Everyone is not good. Some people are out to get you. I just don't see how telling people where you are at all times is safe or smart.
