since i lived in Blacksburg virginia most of my life and watched Vick and his little brother (another a-hole, look up marcus vick if you are interested) play for Virginia Tech as i grew up...OF COURSE he should be allowed to play. he's just an okay QB but so exciting to watch, no other player in the country can compare to his ability to make something happen out of nothing. when he played for the falcons, he was their best running back.

and at the press conference, he seemed pretty remorseful, might just be an act, but i think we should give him a chance to redeem himself.

hopefully, he's not just being a good actor today.

the problem that i have is that the NFL markets the players as childrens roll models.

to me, it doesnt paint the NFL as a whole in the best light to allow him to play.

he may be/was an amazing player but if you are going to market someone to children then maybe they shouldnt be convicted felons.

being good at football doesnt excuse his actions.

I agree no matter how good someone is at a sport, should not make them an exception.

but this is seen over and over again in sports and elsewhere.

barry bonds with steroids, while not convicted, but still just having kids know that their role models do steroid is not exactly encouraging. and this does not just apply to bond, but all those who was allow to play, even thou they tested positive at one point or other.

micheal phelps with pot, not as serious, but similar in circumstance. and i would say he has become a bigger role model than vick.

i understand what micheal vick did was horrendous and more extreme than the two example i listed above but i think it could be another come-back story that can be inspirational...yes even for kids.

What he did was horrible.
He served his punishment for it. This seems to be an issue a lot of criminals have trying to rejoin society. He served what the courts gave him.
Does he deserve to have the rest of the world punish him again on top of that?

What Michael Vick did to those animals makes me sick to my stomach. I love most animals and think dog fighting is a tragedy. But on the other hand he got convicted and did his time. I do not believe that he is reformed at all and he only feels bad because he got caught but he did the crime and the time so as far as I am concerned he should be allowed to play. Even if he is not the best role model he should be allowed to play. I do not think he is going to accomplish anything though. He was ok at best. A tremendous athlete but I do not think that he is going to accomplish anything.

I say let him play. However any money over $7.25hr should go to the treatment of animals.

I think they should've have made him fight a Rankor. If he survives he plays.

He served his debt to society according to our legal system, h should be allowed to play if someone is willing to pay him for it end of story. Dante Stallworth was convicted of DUI Manslaughter served 24 days and did not loose his gig, it was only the NFL commissioner that made him sit out for a year. Vick seems way more remorseful than stallworth but nobody is saying shit about him. Can you tell me that's fair, are dogs worth more than a human. Regardless of intent people trump dogs every time, end of story.

Eagles don't have much to lose by grabbing him. Stylistically I don't see much difference between him and McNabb, so as a backup he is a good fit. I think Kolb going to San Diego is almost a done deal.
He could even work out as an extra receiver, or return specialist.
I hear he didn't lose much in the off time either, went from a 4.28 forty to a 4.3.
