I don't think I will probably ever try and see these movies, but these are ones that I get made fun of for never seeing:
Star Wars
Stand by Me
Meet the Goonies
Indiana Jones
Back to Future
National Lampoon's Anything
Caddy Shack
Terminator
Anything with Freddy, Jason, or evil Clowns (IT??)

All of these were from my youth and when I don't get some of the references, people think I grew up under a rock.

i saw caddy shack recently after hearing people raving about it for so long and it bored me to death.

personally ive never seen a lot of the so called classics (and i doubt i ever will): Casblanca, most old school westerns, all epic/religious movies..

plus i mhavenjt seen a lot of 80's action stuff with chuck norris, seagal and stuff like that.

The short answer to that would be "no". It wasn't that I wasn't allowed. It's just that my parents wouldn't take me to anything that they didn't want to see so I just watched what they watched as long as it wasn't too violent. By the time I was old enough to go to the movies with friends, the 90s had hit, and all the movies were bad.

No but I saw a lot of the late-80s Oscar contenders. Perhaps why i hate long movies now??

This will really date me, but ET was the first movie I remember seeing in the theater.

Ah, the good ol' days when the guys hunting down ET carried guns instead of flashlights.

First movie I remember seeing at the theater was The Land Before Time.

Dude, I went to see it at a drive-in. Apparently also "saw" the original Star Wars, albeit still a baby at the time.

There's a lot of the "Must see"'s out there that I haven't seen. But most of those, I don't even care to see. Call me a blasphemer if you may, but I haven't seen:

The Godfather (Just doesn't seem to appeal to me)
Animal House (Totally missed the appropriate age for that one, now I'm too old to care, besides I find frat boys assholes so I may hate on it)
Avatar (I've heard too much negative that reflects my tastes to give in)
Gone With the Wind (unless it'll get my dick wet, then I might change my mind)
ANY Woody Allen film (I honestly haven't seen anything with him in it)
Actually, to be honest, of the top 100 list by AFI back in '97, I've only seen three of the top ten, so no Citizen Kane, Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, Gone with the Wind, On the Waterfront, or Schindler's List. Hell, of the 100 movies, I've maybe seen 20 of them.

Now granted, my "Oh, you must watch this one" consists of some weird ones: Real Genius, Better Off Dead, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Little Shop of Horrors and The Jerk.

I love Little Shop of Horrors... kind of cornball, but surprisingly good. I could watch Steve Martin's "I'm a Dentist" part on a continuous loop for hours.
