My fucking iPod broke.

Great, within a few months of my AppleCare warranty running out, my stupid iPod dies. Not only is the iPod broke, but I am broke and must drive 20+ hours across the country to school. I'm assed out. Man, I'm having the worst week.

My plan is to stockpile KATG episodes and burn one per CD, but some are obviously more than 60 minutes. Does anyone have any tips for how I can fit the longer KATG episodes on a standard CD so I can play it in my car?

Damn, I'm going to go nuts without my iPod. AAAACH!

One possible idea is to use an audio program (such as Audacity) to splice episodes into multiple chunks if it's too long, or just cut out the outtro stuff (comedy+song). Also, some car cd-players support MP3 so it might be worth just trying to burn it as data instead of an audio track, and try playing it in your car.

Other than splitting the shows there isn't much else you can do. It may be worth getting something small and cheap like a Shuffle to get you through the car trip.

Shuffle is complete shit in terms of quality and price. Get a creative, iAudio, or sandisk if you want something small and cheap.

i need to get a dvd burner. even with burning mp3 files to a cd i've still got shit tons of KATG cd's. that's one of the down sides to podcasts is how much room they take up if you don't pay attention. i only listen/watch about 5 or 6 podcasts, but they take up an insane amount of room on my HD.

You can play the license plate game. Where you and a friend write down as many licenses plates as you can. Remember you can copy each others license plates so you can both have a really long list of licenses plates

Buy more HDDs. I have over 600GB of space. It's hard to run out (though I sometimes do).

Good advice. However, if someone tries to see your list while you're on the road, be sure to use the cutter-uppers to stop them.
