My Paypal got hacked

Some douche that I dont know from California hacked my paypal and took $600.
Paypal is going to correct it, but it takes 2 weeks. Has this happened before to anyone?
No one knows my password and you def cant guess it. How would he get enough info to steal my shit?
He gave me $100 first, then took $600. So i'm assuming the $100 was like a test somehow.
Just hoping someone with more smarts may be able to help me out.

I am guessing you signed into a fake paypal page at some point.

This happened to my girlfriend last year. She still doesn't know how the person did it. Paypal gave her the money back after an investigation. Sorry this shit happend to you firefighter chick, the only up side is that you'll get your money back.

This is my guess too... Chances are that you wouldn't even notice it was a fake site unless you were looking for it. Glad to hear they're going to fix it for you, but that still blows ass nonetheless.

Not sure if I got hacked or not. But once some random unauthorized fee from 'Skype' was taken out of my account for the sum of £60 or something. Had no problem with PayPal getting it back. I think PayPal are pretty good behind the scenes at knowing whether its an honest transfer or not.

Yeah, it was most likely a fake Paypal login or something of the sort. Both PayPal and MySpace are notorious for having those... Or if the password is the same as any of the other sites you visit, they may have gotten it by that means as well. Make sure you change your password asap if that's the case...
