New XO - Black Coffee

Latest effort by the McNacster.

Splendid re-telling of his classic story of teenage emotion, love and subtleties.

Great reding by Ayn (who, whatever you may think of her as a guest on KATG, had a great narrating voice), splendid sound work and story by "my other favourite Keith".

Probably his most sensitive, poetic, and delicate work.

For a guy that boasted for a while his lack of empathy, he actually gets feelings very well. And man, he has an ear for language, too...

Get it, and donate.

I wrote that story back in 2001. I wrote it in one day, and it turns out that if I wait for inspiration to strike, all I get is one story, because it never happened that way again.

I wasn't sure how adding music was going to work, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's much cooler than the original version I released, and I'll definitely be podcasting fiction this way from now on. I wish I had had a chance to get Ayn to record some more stuff, because she did a fantastic job.

Ayn would seem to be very apt for this sort of material. Knowing some of her back story added to the experience.

I'm keen to hear this again very soon. Keep up the great work McNally,

I really liked it. The stereo kind of freaked me out when I switched from listening in the car to using headphones in the office.

A++++ would download again

Whatever McNally puts out is golden. These XOs are brilliant. Excellent story. Didn't know he was such a good writer. Ayn's reading of it was great as well.

I'd also give it a A++++

What can I tell you, I'm a renaissance man. No one had a job in the renaissance, right?

Very compelling story Keith. I'd very much like to hear more from you ma-man.

I owe you a pint for sure, hopefully I can make good on the debt next week.

Cheers and thanks!
