NYC Roommate

I'm moving to New York City by the end of November, and I need a place to live. Does anyone need a roommate? I'm hoping to pay no more than $500 a month for my share, and I have a cat. I'm quiet, I've lived with roommates before so I know the basics of what not to do, and I've lived in Chicago for years so I know how to get by in a city.

Try Weehawken, NJ or something? Do NOT even look at Staten Island.

I live in a small town, in a desperate country in a small apartment and i spend more than that.

I get it that you live in the land of opportunity and if you can make it there you'll make it anywhere, unicorns and rainbows... But 500$ a month is waaaay too low as a price roof.

I realize $500 a month is low, but I'm only looking for a room (a small room), not an apartment. A lot of people rent out rooms on Craigslist for roughly $500 a month, but I thought I'd try the KATG forums, too.

I had a friend work in NYC this summer, paid only $500/month in Staten Island, so it is possible. Good luck!
