If you can see the future, I think you should run for President.

I cant see the future but when the situation is as messed up as it is, a smooth talker is hardly going to fix things.

And as smart and likeable and nice as Obama is, he's not much more powerful or talented than any other politician. And he cannot possibly bring all the changes he promised and that people are believing he'll bring. People love him for charisma and nice speeches. Neither of those two things will save the world.

You would prefer another dumb guy who can't string words into a sentence, and believes in angels and demons among us?

Obama has all of the power of that office, combined with eloquence and the support of a lot of people. This is the United States: the President's words and pen are his only powers outside of leading the military.

The actual decision was made much more recently. Over 200 people were nominated.

Right. But the nods came when he hadn't even had a chance to do anything other than attend dinner parties and smile for photos.

Well-thought out and insightful ideas, when eloquently delivered, do absolutely no good in this world. Gotcha.

Except, you know, be a Senator and then become the goddamned President of The United States. Not that impressive, really.

This guy is going to go down in flames faster and harder than any president in history.
IF he does go down in flames it wont be his fault, by any means. Hes been fought so far every step of the way to make change, he has great, intricate, and workable ideas, yet everyone is against him, republicans sure as hell don't wont him to succeed, and if he fails it works out perfectly for them.

give him a break, he came into this presidency knowing that he has alot of challenges ahead of him, and he was prepared for them, and to make this world a better place, its not his fault if idiots out there who are so stubborn and conservative just want him to fail for the sake of failing.

Eleoquence and ideas that ae hardly possible to give results before lots and lots of years (if we're lucky) do not solve the world problems. Obama is a first step not the saviour. People want results now, and many of them wont wait the time needed to get them, And they'll blame Obama, because he didnt make their dreams come true.

I am not criticizing Obama, i'm criticizing all this feverish cult that turned him into the living beacon of hope that will save us all and solve everything.

He's human. Not a superhero, not a messiah, not the iconic symbol of a new better world.
