I guess we ruined the show thread.

I think Dark Souls would cost me too much money in broken controllers so I'm skipping that for now.

Also, I just hit 3,000 posts, SWEET. Took me almost seven years.

It's not frustratingly hard, it's merely challenging in the same way that tetris is challenging. Every time you die you know it's your fault. The game is never cheap. One just never sees this type of challenge in games anymore.

And also in the latest patches I've heard that they've made the game easier... unfortunately.

That's the one where you power up as you collect "souls" by killing things, but you lose everything if you die, right? When the gamers say something is brutal, I know I'd probably never get through it. I'm getting better at action games, but still nowhere near as proficient as other people are. For instance, I tried God of War and kept falling off the ship in the first damned scene, lol! I'll try it sometime if I run out of stuff to play.

It's nowhere near button mashing action of God of War or Devil May Cry. The fighting is clean and precise. Every movement means something. A missed blow can mean your downfall and arrogantly attacking two foes at once will mean you're about to get butt raped.

You only lose the souls (currency) you are carrying at the time you died. If you spend it before you die then there's no problem.

Get the demo if there is one. I've not had more fun with a game in at least 5 years. Dark Souls > The Witcher 2 > Skyrim. Skyrim is a steaming pile of dog shit compared to Dark Souls.

As a piece of fiction it's brilliant.

And I've "beaten" Skryim so I'm not misinformed. And by "beaten" I mean that I have completed so much of the game that it is pointless for me to continue.

It's okay; no justification needed for an opinion, mate! I don't really care about fighting mechanics in games, I like sandbox style open worlds that I can explore however I want without being forced to follow the linear storyline. I especially like games where my decisions change the game world, because I can play again and again to see how things are different. So I don't tend to gravitate toward the action games anyway because I don't care about learning the precise button combos to get the best moves, etc. I like the story parts. And if the game lets me play as a girl character I will love it forever. Right now I'm playing Mass Effect 2 again.

The Mass Effect series is some of the best stuff gaming has ever produced and Mass Effect 3 was the best in the series. People on the internet are retarded.

The fact that you compared Dark Souls to Skyrim illustrates how much you can't understand the appeal of Skyrim.

I played Mass Effect 1 and 2 as a female and it was extremely awkward when the dudes started hitting on me. I felt very uncomfortable.

Hated those two games btw.
Directed at Bioware: Don't fucking tell me that the decisions I make and the conversations paths I choose actually affect gameplay. THEY DON'T AT ALL.
