I live in B.C. and I saw all these restaurants everywhere saying Pho. I use to think it was someone's last name (like Smith in Vietnamese) than I found out from a friend it means noodle.

I don't care for the stuff. I can't handle fresh coriander/cilantro to that degree.

The first place I ever had it is still my favorite, a place in Vancouver at the corner of Broadway and Nanaimo, across from Bon's Off Broadway. The number 1 bowl specifically. Delicious!

I love fresh cilantro, probably tied with sage for my favorite herb (gay gay gay gay)

To that degree? I've had a lot of pho, and usually the broth, which does have coriander seed in it, is much more reminiscent of anise and cardamom. I guess I just am defensive of my favorite noodle dish haha, keep trying it!

Punk'n I hope you like it!

I'm glad there are KATGers who like this stuff too

I think that's the one with all the shit in it (Dac Biet?) Best thing about pho is that it runs about 6 bucks for a huge bowl, so it's on the McNally recession buster program ha ha.

Hell's yeah! I saw two street kids in Montreal splitting a bowl. Bums of the world, take note!

No it doesn't, it is the name of a beef based soup broth that has noodles and beef in it.

You get the cilantro on the side and don't have to add it.

And there is no corriander, corriander and cilantro are not the same thing, corriander is the seed, cilantro is the leaf. You may want to take note of that in cullinary school.

It's the seeds that grow into a cilantro plant.

All this pho talk is making me hungry for it. I'm gonna stop at a place on my way home.
