"Coriander" is the seed. "Fresh coriander" are the leaves. "Cilantro" are the leaves. "Fresh" is the dealbreaker.

Not in these parts, or in China, or Thailand, or anywhere else in the free world.

You get the cilantro on the side and don't have to add it.

I've never gotten cilantro on the side, it's almost always with the broth. On the side I usually get bean sprouts, serrano peppers, lime, and thai basil.
Also I'm pretty sure that the traditional pho stock spices are coriander seed, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, fennel and cardamom pod.

Yeah, I've only heard coriander as the seed and cilantro as the herb.

Pho is the bomb nuts. I just hate when the meatballs have that nasty cartilage in it. I gotta stick with the Pho Tai at those place. Ai Hue in St. Paul, MN has the best Pho in this state

Pho So 1 -11 Mott St.

I got there and we have an understanding. They pretend I'm not black and I pretend I don't feel like I'm robbing the place because I've yet to spend more than 15 yet need a nap after I'm so full. I get the Pho Tai w/out Tripe. And the Beef Salad.

Then I stick my entire face in a Rainbow Ice and call it a wrap.

My favorite pho place that I hit up whenever I get out of the sticks is Pho Tu DO on 102 Bowery. Found it wandering around like a lost tourist one of the first times I went solo to New York, and it's been my heartsong ever since, I highly recommend it.

Corriander is the name of the plant, the seeds included, in Australia (and I assume the UK). Americans call the plant Cilantro.

I LOVE Pho. I can't make it as well as the Vietnamese though, and I can't get over how expensive it is here in Australia, so I tend to just eat it in Vietnam. I love all the crazy fresh herbs that go into it. Minus that one that tastes like fish-arse.
