Probably teleportation. Flying takes too long, invisibility is silly, and I want to go somewhere fast. Whatever I do, I'm sure it would be for good not evil.

I chose time travel - but I was thinking for entirely selfish reasons.
I didn't even think about changing political events, mostly because what if I fucked up somehow and Australia ended up being run by the Japanese?!
I'd rather just possibly fuck up the lives of the people around me.

Telepathy.

I'm not too interested in Super Strength because there's not really much I want to do in my life or daily routine that would require it. I'm strong enough for now.

Telekinesis would be pretty awesome though, just isn't the one I went with. I could see it being helpful in moving shit, and whose to say I can't have super-strength Telekinesis? Why lift a boulder with my hands when I can do it, WITH MY MIND!?

Flight, meh...yeah it'd be cool...but don't desire it too much. Teleportation is the same, yeah I'd save on gas and save on time, but I don't really mind driving and I'd still be late anyway, instead of leaving the house 10 minutes before class and arriving a minute late, I'd dick around for 11 minutes more and teleport a minute late.

Time Travel, nope. I don't fuck with time travel. I don't like the idea of pulling off some Sound of Thunder shit accidently. It makes for interesting sci-fi, but I really don't think people should mess with it. Especially me.

Energy Control, I can't even conceive of what the experience of using this would be like....nor do I even know exactly what this power means. So I discard it.

Invincibility, would be awesome, but I don't really get hurt that often, so it wouldn't get much use.

Precognition, could be useful, I'm tempted by it, but nah, I like surprises.

Super-speed, only if you could be like The Flash, where in your Super-Speed you can say, read a whole book in less than a second and also know what you've read. If you can be cognizant and retain memory while in your "super-speed" mode, then I'd totally be down....

Telepathy though, I'm going with because it'd be great to read people's mind (what a cliche thing to say!), but to clear up, I'm assuming that it's a power I choose when to use. I don't want to be bombarded with everyone's thoughts all the time, but I'd like to be able to turn this power on/off when I want to use it. I could use it to tell whether or not someone's lying to me, whether or not someone's into me, if a joke went over well or not, when a friend is being retarded and saying "I don't know what I want to do, you decide" over and over, or if you want to know where to take a date that they'd love....know what the right answer to a question is when you're completely drawing a blank....I dunno I'd find much more use and fun out of telepathy than probably most of these other powers.

I've always suspected if you could teleport, you would grab someone and teleport them to Antarctica then let go and head back to warmer climes. I've always suspected you have an evil side. If it's any consolation, I always suspected that the person you would teleport to a 3 days walk to McMurdo would be me. Which makes you kind of a nice person.

If you were truly evil you would teleport someone close to me and send me a nice lil' Hallmark card saying, "You're Next."

And to be clear, I think you're the sweetest person right now. It's only if you could teleport that you would become evil. I wake up every day hoping that Rhian can't teleport and the world's balance is still tilted towards good, rather than evil.

If I could teleport I would sometimes bring you take out from your favorite restaurant back in Canada. One day you would begin to suspect that every time I did this, I killed someone. Randomly.

One day you would find out that I didn't kill anyone at all, that I was just being nice. And when you refused the take out, I felt a little bad. Would that make you feel guilty at all?

For me, it's time travel by a mile.

For some reason, most of my daydreaming has to do with rewinding my life and starting over from an earlier age, but secretly retaining all of the knowledge I have now, and therefore making better choices.

For instance, I think about all the things I'd do differently if I could go back and do everything over, starting from high school, or starting from college, or whatever: the relationships I wouldn't waste my time on; the hobbies I'd want to pick up earlier (or at all); the classes I'd take and jobs I wouldn't bother with; the way I'd spend my money differently...

But then, I think about the friends I wouldn't have met if I wasn't in place X at time Y, so I devise certain plans to make sure I'd still meet each one.

But then I think, if I changed everything based on what I know now, I'd end up in a situation I'd know nothing about, and I wouldn't be able to avoid the potential pitfalls of whatever that experience is. Maybe I'd just make all new mistakes and end up no happier or more fulfilled than I am now.

But I can't help but think, at least I'd be able to avoid some of the big mistakes that have set me back. Of course I'd make new mistakes, but hopefully the consequences wouldn't be quite as severe.

Also, I'd start buying Apple stock with tooth fairy money, and I wouldn't have ever been a Republican.


This is where my mind tends to go if there's nothing else going on to distract it... hence, the podcasts.

Personally, I'd go with super-speed. Even if you make a conservative estimate and say your top speed is 1/4 the speed of light, you can still make it anywhere in the world in less then a second, so unless you plan on some inter-stellar travel, super-speed beats teleportation. And you could easily make money, either by robbing everyone you see, or by taking some job where you get paid for how much work you get done, not by the hour, such as running a 200 person factory by yourself.

Precognition takes a close second, as I think about it more. If you wanted, you could ask every girl in a bar if they wanted to bang, without ever getting slapped, ask for a raise from your boss, without fear of repercussions, make every stupid bet you wanted, without losing money, drive 200 miles down a highway or steal shit, without getting caught, would be fun, but could get old. Edit: most of the things that I would do with precognition would be what I would do with telepathy, but with more sure-fire results.
