There's a saying in Adelaide, Australia that goes "I almost died with one leg in the air". Any time I hear it I want to bitch slap the perpertrator...

I was curious about the term "Number one with a bullet" and had to explained to me once and thought it was interesting.

In the billboard charts for music, any song on the list with a bullet dot (like when you make a list) next to it means that song climbed the charts faster than it had last week.

And obviously number one is the top song.

So number one with a bullet means the song shot up really fast as well as reached the top spot.

I had always assumed it had more to do with weapons.

Something I forgot to mention was that I'm pretty sure no song like that has ever existed because, as far as I was told, the bullet was taken away if the song ever hit number 1.
