Prime Minister Gillard?

Well we may have a new Prime Minister tomorrow, and a lady one at that. Deputy PM Julia Gillard is going to challenge KRudd to a vote, well I believe its a vote but its behind closed doors so it may well be decided by jelly wrestling.

Thoughts? How will this play out in the election?

It's interesting... to say the least. I'm still not sure where I'm putting my vote this year, in the federal or state elections. The main reason I was wary of Labour though was KRudd, so maybe Gillard can sway me? Although if the Libs get rid of Abbot and produce some decent policies they might get my vote too, who knows... So far I'm not overly impressed by either major party in either election. Unfortunately I'm enrolled, so I'll have to vote one way or the other come election day.

I'm just interested to see her reaction to this. Word on the street is she isn't quite comfortable with the idea.

You don't actually have to vote, once your name is crossed off you can write anything you like on the paper, how about "Fuck Yeah, Suck Yeah"?

Well it is Prime Minister Gillard! I'm unsure of what this will do regarding the election - i think maybe Labor is too far gone at this point to win the election, especially because of the way it's come about. But it will sure make the election a lot more interesting - I don't think Abbott will be too pleased, his balls have probably shrunk a little bit upon hearing the news. She rips him in Parliament.

Let's hope the new PM knows how to talk straight to the electorate. Rudd was too indirect, too enmeshed in committee speak.

That is definitely one of her strengths - that will be no problem. Rudd spoke gobbledy-gook a lot of the time. She will relate well, that won't be the issue. I think she'll back off the mining tax asap, harden up on immigration, and maybe even dump Conroy's internet filter.
