ah damn that seriously sucks,

I know a guy that just graduated with a chemical engineering degree from uq. He started work on monday just before the floods hit and he was sent home at 10am on tuesday. The building he was working in was on the coast and was one of the first to go under, its totaled now and he doesnt know what to do with himself.

Are you from Brisbane too dude? that would make 4 of us altogether from brisbane.

Yay for being in the minority of people not affected AT ALL by the floods.
My workplace is fine, my house is fine.
One of my friends works / part owns a car dealership and the water came up their driveway but didn't touch ANY cars. With no insurance that shit is lucky!!

Glad everyone came out good

encouraging news, my friend was able to get back to his house tonight. Water missed his house by 1 meter, how lucky is that?!

I'm not sure if anyone is from North Queensland.
But Cyclone Yasi is meant to hit tonight - hope you can't read this because you've been evacuated!

For everyone else Cyclone Yasi has been upgraded to Category 5, which is the same as Hurricane Katrina. This is the size of it in comparison to the USA.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck Yoooooooooooou! Welcome to forums.

Looks as though Cairns didn't get hit as hard as they were expecting but the smallers towns around it were decimated.

The Fuuuuuuuck Yooooooou is how we roll, it means good. If someone says, "Fuck You" then you got issues.

I'm bummed about the banana thing too, that's my daily fruit and my daughter loves them too. But I can't pay $10+ a kilo (already $8 a kilo for the last couple weeks) for shitty green bananas. Fuckin cyclone.
