Shared memory?

I would check for a direct x update, or an updated driver from nvidia then.

Better idea: strip the driver out completely and reinstall the latest version.

If it is the card, you can buy a cheap video card that's better than the onboard graphics for less than $30 probably.

Yeah, but I have to get a new power supply as well then 'cause this ones puny 250w won't handle new hardware well, so that has to be my absolute last option.

I have the same on-board graphics in my machine. My machine only became stable after I installed a more powerful graphics card (set me back about $80 and drives me crazy with fucking fan noise). The 6150 worked most of the time in my machine from about two months after Vista came out til SP1. It was never stable after SP1. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting and trying different drivers and downloads from Microsoft with no luck.

I don't think it is realistic to expect stability from vista on machines running integrated low-powered graphics. Vista is garbage on office-type computers.

Edited to add: my card asked for a 400w power supply and I didn't know what that meant at the time. I installed it and it works. I found out later that I have a 300w power supply. *shrug face*

My machine link.

My video card replacement link.

That's a nice card, i added it to my list

Be careful with the power supply, if you're over using it it will crap out eventually.

And possibly take other hardware with it when it goes.
