It’s my 10 year wedding anniversary

That’s the post.
We did get married in Golden, Colorado on a vacation 10 ago after a 5 year relationship.
I alsways planed to return to that place on my anniversary but than the pandemic came.
I hope we will be able to go next year.

Any other long existing couples here?

Bear and i will have been together 10 years in about a week. ya know, it never ever feels like it’s been that long. our life is so sweet.

trusting others was really hard after my divorce. letting him love me, really believing and trusting it, was a huge victory. he is a good, patient man who taught me about love, respect, honesty, and boundaries. i’m lucky. i’d be a much shittier person without him.

Do you two count your anniversary as the day you met? Or first date? Or was it both?

We celebrate the day we met much more than the day we got married because getting hitched didn't really change our lives (aside from admin stuff I guess) but coming into each other's orbits shook The Universe.

we got married in a romantic way for very practical reasons. his Grandfather had a stroke and we disagreed with his Mother and Aunt on how his end of life care was handled. we knew for Bear’s wishes to be respected, i’d need to be his legal next of kin. i don’t actually remember what day in January it was.

we consider the day we met as our Anniversary anniversary. we’ve been together ever since then. it wasn’t a Love at First Sight situation, he had to ask me to marry him twice, but we have this incredible ease and find each other is unendingly interesting.
