Student Council Elections

This year I'm running for A/V rep (basically make videos to promote student council events). I made my final speech, and was wondering if the bright KATG clan could constructively criticize it? I'm open to any suggestions, and would love any small thing you could add. I need to read it this friday morning, so please don't wait 'til the last minute to respond. LOVE YA!






***Good morning Cathedral, my name is Colin Hammer and I am here to tell you why you need to vote me for A/V rep. I have been filming videos since before I can remember. To me, filming is more than just a hobby. It’s my passion. It’s what I do best. Last year, I was paid to fly out to Calgary to film and edit the Youth Criminal Defence Office's 15th anniversary video. Back here at home, I entered and won all three prizes at the Hamilton french film contest. I also made all of Student Council’s commercials last year. I was basically A/V rep before the job was even created. I filmed this years Senior Boys’ football season, and edited individual highlight tapes for players. Cathedral, let me do what I do best. Let me be your A/V rep, and let’s make next year great. Thank you.***

Man, speaches for school elections are the worst. Cut the shit and just say, I'm the best you have, and I'm already doing it. The end.

Hang a huge flag behind you as you speak. People tend to listen to someone when they have a huge flag behind them.

Video tape the speech. When it's your turn to deliver the speech, bring a TV up to the podium with you, play the video of you giving the speech. Stand next to it or behind it and smile at the crowd while the video you is delivering the speech. When it's over, remove the TV screen/monitor back off stage and sit down. Unique always wins this kind of stuff.

And the flag... the flag is a good idea, too.
