I have had it before never cooked it though. It seems like its a pretty common thing down here in the south where they like to deep fry everything. I would say half the people I work with say they do it almost every year.

I've eaten it at a place in Brooklyn that sells fried turkey. It's called Jive Turkey. i saw it on the travel channel. I had a fried turkey sandwich. it was ok. nothing to write home about.

frankly the turkey I made yesterday was the best turkey I ever had... because I made it. cooking turkey (and chicken) whole is nonsense. you get better results if you remove the dark meat and cook it on the side.

And drop it in frozen.

I think I may have started a new tradition this year. I talked my family into going out to eat. Costs about the same and no clean up.

Sounds tasty, maybe greasy and dry but tasty...

Speaking of traditions, My mom makes all of these traditional Christmas goodies every year, butter tarts, cherry cake, sausage rolls, tortiere. I decided that MY family needed some traditional treats. So I make a fruit cake. I start it in October and marinade it (this year in 12 year old scotch) for two months. I make gingerbread men that my son decorates, shortbread cookies (because I LOVE them so much) and a gingerbread house. I need more though, might try rumballs this year...and a home made eggnog...any suggestions??
