A year ago I was visiting my parents down in Tampa, FL and decided to head over to Orlando to check out Disney World with my girlfriend. It was ridiculously hot and humid, just plain miserable.

Anyway, as we were walking around the park, one image that stuck with me was a group of four muslims. The two men in the group were wearing jean shorts and short sleeves, typical American/Western clothing (kind of), while their female cohorts walked behind in black burqas.

Maybe those things breathe quite nicely, but damn that image just exemplified the stereotypical mistreatment of Muslim women (in the eyes of a westerner). Perhaps they enjoyed dressing head to toe in black on what may have been the hottest day of 2010, but to me it seemed like bad call.

I read that Muslim women wear the veil because they dont want to arouse married men, which is a sin.It's not for the women's protection, it's for the men's.
