When I startes playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (BC2), I though this game was surperior in every way to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2). After playing BC2 non stop all month I have come to the conclusion that it is REALLY HARD to kill people. I'm not playing on Hardcore servers because I was told I would be destroyed. Squad play is almost needed int his game, which I like. I can't shoot as a recon for crap. I'm a pretty good tank gunner and medic. Sometimes I join a server that is laggy as crap. Sometimes I join a server and I decimate, and other times I am slaughtered. Not to mention everything is all doomy and grainy and I have a constant sense of panic when I play. Now I have a hankering for a relaxing game of MW2.

Fun fact: In BC2, If someone is wall hacking, knifing them doesn't do any damage despite sprays of blood. You gotta shoot that guy. And the combat knife take sooooo long.

It could be argued that the Modern Warfare knife is preposterously fast...

And to think I almost spent $5 on it during the holidays.

I finally finished Splinter Cell's single player game and ugh. Seriously, that game sucks towards the end because it makes you play it like a shitty third person shooter instead of like Splinter Cell. Ugh.

I agree. I played with it a bit more since my first review and returned it to the owner with bitterness. They fucked the series so hard.

While they did push the story in a more action/shooter direction with the story, the good old Splinter Cell is still there. You have to do deniable ops, with either the Hunter or Infiltration modes (Hunter leaves more room for error and is a little easier). In those modes, you can choose to go guns blazing if you like, but it is generally better to be as stealthy as possible and I enjoyed going through it without being spotted or only using stealth kills (no guns/gadgets). I generally ended up liking it more than the campaign missions, simply because you have the option to play it how you like. On some of the campaign missions there are sections where you simply can't be stealthy at all and have to go third-person shooting style guns blazing and/or tossing grenades.

It seems like an odd choice, but I was at least pleased to find that there was still pure stealth gameplay in this Splinter Cell, even though you have to dig a little bit to find it. Plus, they made it so you don't move like a snail when hanging from a ledge, which was long overdue. I hated how being stealthy was painfully slow.

Yeah, I've played a bit of the co-op stuff and I agree that it's fun, but I'm talking about the end of the single player campaign. If you're playing on Realistic, Sam can take like two shots from dudes at the end of the game and it constantly forces you to fight waves of guys pretty much head on, so I kept dying over and over and over again in what probably amounted to the last 30 minutes of the game.

Alan Wake looks awesome, it's one of those games that makes me think about getting a console (then i think that i am over thirty and have already problems handling my current addictions, so i pass)

Curious about ALpha Protocol. Could be a mess or something new. The trailer makes it seem not much more than your usual spy actioneer, with a vague hint of RPG. But the developers actually call it "The first spy RPG". Not that it means anything.

Also Darksiders will come out for PC in a month! Wheee.
