Well, let's see: watch a guy play the same character 90% of the time, a character I like, or watch a guy try and most likely fail at playing all sorts of characters, and probably not enjoy it.
I'll stick with the former, at least until I'm done. Last edited by fluxquanta; 06-11-2010 at 03:01 AM. |

Finished season 7 of the X-Files.
I was a bit upset that they didn't really develop much of the alien-related story line, almost every episode was a "monster-of-the-week" style episode, and a lot seemed like the directors were trying out new things for fun... it was still a great season, I'm just more interested in what goes on with the aliens, the cigarette smoking man, Mulder and Scully, Mulder's sister...etc. |

I plan to watch it again, and although it is common for me to completely change my opinion upon a second viewing (recently happened with the new StarTrek [love-hate], and with The fantastic mr fox [hate-love]) I would be surprised if I changed my opinion on D9.

I watched Book of Eli a couple of nights ago. Not bad, as far as post-apocalyptic films go. I'm going to have to watch it again, though, to see if the rest of the film plays nice with that final revelation.
I think I was most impressed with Mila Kunis in this one. Her 70's Show/Family Guy voice makes me want to punch someone, but she did OK in this role and managed to talk without sounding like a ferret being dragged across a cheese grater. Of course, it says something for KATG that I was keeping a close eye on Denzel for that "repeating lines" behavior that Keith likes to parody. I didn't catch it in this one. Oh....and it has Tom Frickin' Waits in it, which, in a film like this, is kind of like having Moses do a guest spot at your bar mitzvah.

The episode, "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" is my all time fav followed closely by "Humbug". I was impressed with the widescreen ghost ship episode that came out after the first movie, "Triangle". There are some other gems, but those three are my high water marks. "There are worse ways to go, but I can't think of a more undignified one than auto-erotic asphyxiation." I miss Peter Boyle. |
