Something Borrowed- much better than I expected. More realistic than the average romantic comedy
Green Lantern- I liked it. I haven't seen any hero movies to compare with Batman Begins or the first Iron Man, but this one is decent. There is a scene after the credits. X-Men- This one was good enough that I could almost forgive the suckage that was X3 and Wolverine. In fact, the 2 seconds with Wolverine was the only scene that needed to be cut. There is nothing after the credits, so you can leave right when they start rolling. |

The Crow - it was on BBC last night. I wonder what would have happened to Brandon Lee had he not died during filming. Big star? Has been? Man, he was hot. Also, it reminded me of when I had a fling with a 28 year old when I was 15. We watched The Crow and then fucked and I never returned his calls. What a creep, amirite?

Dear Zachary - A Letter to a Son About His Father - I've been into documentaries as of late, and just finished watching this one. I can honestly say this is probably one of the saddest most depressing films I have ever seen. The Canadian Judicial System is f'ed up.

![]() #1 Most pretentious movie I've ever seen in my entire life #2 I was sorta okay with that... especially after talking to a buncha my movie loving friends about it... it was really, really different. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE though. I cannot recommend anyone seeing it. It's closer to hearing a poem than it is to seeing a film. I'm still digesting it. |

Saw Bad Teacher (because of Jason Segal mostly). He was the only part of it. And Phyllis from The Office was in it, she was funny too. Other than that, not too good. |

Saw Tree of Life this evening, and I agree with both of BlueCrucial's points.
The first 20 minutes, I sat there, mouth agape, about to head for the door. This. Was. Ridiculous. The musical score for the 'birth of creation' act sucked me in though, and from there, I fully immersed myself in all the philosophical metaphysical gentle mind-fucking (I feel the term 'mind making-love' is appropriate) that Malick wanted to inflict upon me. I left the head space of being okay with the pretentious douchebaggery during the last 15 minutes, which was a shame. I think I'd have a higher opinion of the film had I been carried through on that white steed known as Pondering the Universe. I took film studies for 2 years and I can fully admit to not being 'smart' enough to understand this entire concept. However, I'm still quietly reveling in the music and the super duper hotness of Sean Penn's mom, so it was money well spent. |
