There are so many! Besides the obvious or repeating the above -
Fleetwood Mac, and also the early stuff with Bob Welch and Peter Green especially if you are digging bluesy stuff at all. I really like Roger Water's solo stuff, Radio Kaos and Pros and Cons of Hitchikking are pretty great and a trip. That's a start for now. |

Oh my.....
Well I loved anything by the Pixies back in the day...they changed the way I listened to music...before that it was ll about U2 and duran Duran...mind you I still love Duran Duran...sorry, them boyz were hawt. I think to get a feel for the 80ties into the 90ties you have to listen to the classics like, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Nirvana, Pixies ,The Ramones, The Cure....Ahe the list is long |

At first I was going to make a list, but then I decided this was ridiculous. Way too many great albums, especially when you have 1940s-1989 to chose from. Jeez.
I will say though, everyone SHOULD check out any of the "top" considered albums in some genres they never listen to. Open up your minds and try to appreciate something out of your norm. |

Aside from FreydNot's very good list, these are the albums that had the biggest affect on me back as standardboy and still do:
Johnny Cash I Walk the Line At San Quentin The Birthday Party Drunk on the Pope's Blood/The Agony Is The Ecstasy Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Your Funeral... My Trial Tom Waits Closing Time (If 'I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You' and 'Martha' don't break your heart, I'll never understand you) Rain Dogs |
