where the fuck do you find a liquor store that sells beer in NYC? I mean good shit and microbrews. I think they just carry wine and hard liquor because you can get beer at any grocery store.

NY has odd rules...no selling wine in the supermarket (they try and trick folks by carying "fortified wine") and liquor stores just carry hard alcohol and wine (or just wine in some cases). Also Trader Joe's is only allowed one location that sells wine and it must have an entrance separate from the market itself.
As for buying fancytimes beer try Bierkraft in Brooklyn or The Bowery Whole Foods they have a big old beer room and you can fill growlers and everything. |
