Did the Band of Brothers guy ever cover anything in the air or on the water? It's a bit dry, are you looking for sexy fiction or paper-pedia?

I was going to jokingly suggest picking up a copy of World War 2 For Dummies but then I Google'd it and it turns out it is actually a thing

I think I heard this mentioned in Hardcore History once (a pretty awesome podcast if you're into history) and it's supposed to be pretty good.

I can't personally recommend it, I've not read it...but here's a book you might enjoy.

Amazon.com: Fire In The Sky: The Air War In The South Pacific…

I would recommend Stephen Ambrose's D-Day for the war in Europe and for the war in the pacific there are a couple of good one's. The Pacific by Hugh Ambrose, Flags of our Fathers by James Bradley, and Ghost Soldiers by Hampton Sides (I am not positive the authors name is right on that last one but I know the title is good). I am a big history buff and WW2 is one of my favorite periods to study about but I haven't found one big comprehensive book that covers the whole war, unless of course you count textbooks.
