243: Shows 3692 - 3694

It's Rod. I'm rolling solo in the hosting chair this week. Don't worry, Karen's laugh is still in the background, and I still messed up the guest names. One of the guests may have been an asshole. Tune in to find out who it was!

Chemda was completely right about Dave and it was the saving grace of the episode. He's one of those 40+ year-old guys who still has no clue (as mentioned on the show before), and she had an appropriate response to it.

Giving people the benefit of the doubt while they're literally telling you who they are can result in you infantilizing them. They're grown people.

TV shows that came out weekly in the past (and HBO shows now) are a completely different experience from streaming shows. The weekly releases were more a part of your life and discussions. In the past, you'd look forward to marinating on the story and spending time with the characters for one night, after living your own life for a week.

There's good and bad to both, and one format for one show doesn't work for the next.

Dave used to be on Nathan McIntosh's podcast Positive Anger a bunch.. It sounds like he's suited for stand-up. Is that a nice way to say a thing?

I would like to inform you that I learn from the minimal rage segments.
Even if I live in Germany and we don't many guns, we still have hot oil.

We were at the Buger King drive in and I ordered 20 chilly cheese nuggets for Mr Apia and me and got 20 chicken nuggets.
I decided to be glad to be alive and that chicken nuggets was what the universe had in mind for me this day and just drove away.

Rod is the best. This is just a fact.

I absolutely agree about Dave. He is 42! If his was 25 with those views, ok.
But he is my age! Meaning, there is likely no more change to be expected.

Exactly. Which is why we need to divide our groceries from those people.

I also wonder if it’s because in NYC people don’t buy as many groceries per trip.

Very maybe. I feel like I saw it in Somerset for no reason.

But then in NYC they still slam it down so …

Not sure where it comes from. I’ll think about it
