My children have boring names. And here is the reason:
In Germany there are very strong judgments against white, German children with too interesting names or American sounding names. The child is seen as coming from stupid, low class parents who have no education.
It's only for white, German people. If you are a person of color, it's not a problem.

My parents also made us buy the first house in 2009 and helped us with the down-payment. We still live in it, and bought more.
It was great that they made us buy it!

And man he sounds like an amazing landlord. It is so nice to know there are decent humans out there.

My parents both gave the sex talk to me at different ages. They had me when they were 19 and 20 and as I grew older and continued to show a lot of interest in taking care of babies, the talks became more frequent. I’m actually impressed with them because they were very reasonable, factual, and did not shame me. Both said it was my body my choice but they really wanted me to graduate college first before having kids. They have been weird/strict about other things-such as not wanting me to go to a friends house for New Year’s Eve when I was 18 years old…
