I've always considered Calvino Cuban.

Yeah, I know, just messing. I thought about expounding on his inherent Cuban-ness, but I'm just not feeling that silly. I think I read one book of his, maybe two, in translation, of course. If I remember correctly it was quite good.

So pretty much I've said nothing. Oh well.

I think I was just thrown by the favorite Italian author thing. Are we putting the Latin speakers in a separate category? What about playwrights and opera...wrights? I'm not gonna hit you with any "but what about?" questions, cos frankly, I can't think of a lot of Italian/Latin fiction writers.

And as a side question, are you reading him in Italian?
