I don't know about other VAs but the Indianapolis one has a special military sex trauma clinc that is constantly busy. When I went through the general orientation they made it seem like it was normal and to be expected that most of the women veterans experienced it. It is really sad.

Hands down, KaTG has provided me with the most interesting coverage of the Hurricane by far. Fuck these major news networks, KaTG deserve awards fir this show alone.

On another point...

"My life no longer exists after 1983..." - this from my 6 year old son.

Seriously though, both my kids love the original triology and prefer them over the prequel triology. The cartoon series "The Clone Wars" is must watch viewing *when I download it off the internet* each Sunday morning.

Disney acquiring Star Wars...did any of you see John Carter"?

What an abortion.

I don't think kids would have any problem following the original Star Wars movies. They're very simple. The newer prequels, with all of their "free trade/tax blockade" faux-intellectual bullshit and distracting effects would be way more disorienting for kids. I think the reason it's not so huge for kids anymore is that the series was (at least until yesterday's announcement) was thought to be over. Why not move on to a new thing?

Disney seems like a weird choice, but don't forget that they acquired Marvel and released The Avengers, one of the biggest movies in recent memory. Everything will be fine. Maybe if they get somebody like Brad Bird, who's worked with Disney before and did Ratatouille and Mission Impossible 4, we might get a genuinely good Star Wars movie.

Ok love you guys bye.

I don't think you can count making Ratatouille as a credit to being qualified to make a Star Wars movie. Maybe if they got someone like Joss Whedon whose entire career has been based in science fiction then people might feel more comfortable with the new movies

I think people really think Mickey Mouse is making these movies.

Every science fiction show he's done has failed miserably.

I was using it as an example of a good, fun children's movie. Mission Impossible 4 is a good, fun action movie. Hopefully they get the guy who did these movies and he's able to find a happy medium between the two.

Disney also aquired Pixar and now...I don't know. 'Brave' seemed to be lacking, but maybe that company isn't at the forefront anymore. Disney did aquire Studio Ghibli, which is kinda nice for english speaking peoples who want to watch amazing flics like 'Princess Mononoke' and all the other great, unknown animations they originally did in japanese. Walt Disney was the antichrist, but he did bring us some wonderful evil.

If I can get a hold of the Gargoyles cartoon that is something I'd love my kids to watch.

We haven't let our 6 year old watch Star Wars yet...but we're getting close to letting him watch the originals. The new ones have beautiful costumes and better special affects, but they are also more gory...though I do love me some young Obi Wan Kenobi. But Jar Jar alone is a reason not to watch.

We are pacing what movies our kids watch with violence and scary things in it. Even if they seem so neutral to adults, kids do get affected. The only time our son was violent was when we had just finished watching Kung Fo Panda, he was 2 and immediately hit his baby sister. We haven't watched things with violence sense, and he hasn't really acted out. His friends that watch all the super hero movies at 4, 5 or 6, are all about hitting, kicking, biting, and they get out of control. Our son is still very active and has a great time, but he just isn't violent. I don't think that is coencidence.

Also, my kids can sit through movies. I think we are in an age where there has to be something crazy every moment to keep people engaged, young or old, but since we don't watch a ton of tv, and the stuff we do watch is more calm...they can sit through all kinds of movies. We can go to dinner without fits and do a 4 hour car ride without them using hand held games or watching a movie. We own digital stuff like a nook and ipad and computer and wii, but they have a limited amount of screen time. I'm not saying this to brag, I'm using my family as an example that you can still have normal kids that make eye contact and converse like normal people if you put the time into raising them.

Hell, our kids are 6,4 and 3.5 and they sit through documentaries on whales and stuff
