I was surprised by all the stuff coming out after the birth. I thought the child comes out and that's pretty much it. But stuff for weeks? Thanks nature.
And peeing burned. Uh. Like hell.
Depression? Yes please! Me! This was the worst.

The other body stuff was fine I was lucky.
Breast milk was surprisingly sweet. I tasted it.
I had an easy time breastfeeding. Only the first 2 days hurt.

We had sex after 6 weeks both times because I wanted it. I wanted to know how it feels. It was good.

" is motherhood a 24 hours job?" Not how I do it.

1. Have a husband who takes 3 months paid paternity leave. ( Germany)

2. Have a job and go to work every day. Work or as I call it now " my time".

Than you have two full time jobs, but it somehow feels better.

My wife and I outsourced the birth of our children. 100% would recommend.

Kids are fun to make! If you don't want any right now, just keep practicing anyway. :-D

Everything about birth seems so intense and gory.

Especially c-sections.

Literally digging out the organs of a person and throwing them on a side table then cutting through their uterus to pull an alien looking baby out.

Then just throwing the organs back in there and sewing them up.

It's such a morbid thing for the opposite of dying.

Then, this person who just had their entrails removed has to care for the little alien alone while recovering from surgery because paternal leave is mostly not a thing here.

[I hear C-sections are much better now. But my mom has a scar across her stomach from one hip to the other from two of them. Two decades later she got a hysterectomy that took twice as long as usual because of layers and layers of scar tissue the surgeon had to cut through.]

Luckily my kids were born the classical way. This is very interesting but also intense.
And right after they were born I didn't feel so overwhelmed with love, in my head was just this thought: WHAT? WOW.WHAT? WOW. " more didn't fit in my head.

The good thing was, despite some discomfort going to the toilet, I was ready to go. With the first child the hospital talked me into staying 3 days, but with kid 2 I went home the next morning.

I hated being in the hospital.
I'm very glad that paternity leave is so common in Germany. Lots of fathers take at least 2 months.

If you think Guitars and Guns is ironic...

Look at this lifestyle magazine:

Garden & Gun | Official Website of Garden & Gun Magazine

They do present it as sheer perfection. Beautiful Homes, Delicious Food, Vibrant Music, Rich Culture and, of course, Guns.
