49ers is a reference to the gold rush of 1849. Not saying it's a good name, but there is at least a reason.

We put bedsheets on the couches because it makes it easy to clean up all the hair from our 2 dog that shed a lot.

"buy me some beaver meat" lol there are just too many stupid puns to make jokes there..... but I have also never tried beaver meat, so drop me a line if you find a good source!

Get a sofa slipcover.

We have two and wash the one that got dirty every so often.

And with the washing stuff. I put the washing soap directly on the dirty clothes with no cup or anything. There is no mess. Isn’t this an option in the US?

I don't have a slipcover, but I've been getting ads for couches with washable cushion covers that I'm interested in. If I were to get a slipcover (I needed one a few years ago for the old couch), it's because the cats scratched it up.

It’s not expensive and I give it a full recommendation. It looks good and I like being able to put in into the washing machine. It’s alsways very much darker after some time. Otherwise the dirt would live in the sofa forever.

Btw I love the new segment, household tricks with KATG.

I use a slipcover because I have a leather couch and cats. The slipcover helps deter their scratching and it keeps my body from sticking to the couch in summer.
