Keith and his Father

I've listened to KATG now for over a year, and I've heard about Keith's Dad and I still don't fully understand why every little thing his dad does, bothers Keith so much? It's like an exposed nerve, every dad has his kid do something stupid. You grow up and let things go. He never does. I think he simply wanted better for himself, and had higher asperations then he acheived.
So he conducts mass in the basement...Maybe he's has such guilt, it's his attonement. When police officers retire, they often listen to scanners to 'get that feeling' back. He misses it.
I think that in 40 years, Keith will have an old replica of his podcast studio in his basement, thinking he's still podcasting, but nothing is plugged in. His son will look at him the same way, telling his friends, "My old man still thinks he has a radio show!" HAHA.

It appeared in The New Yorker article, A Show To Go
Rather than returning to Summerset, Keith Malley decided to make his way to New York. His Father, Michael Malley, was disappointed with his son's decision: "Keith should have come home."
