BDUs
Keith mentioned the new military uniforms on the show when talking about Gunnar. He wondered why the patches and other identifying devices are attached with velcro. Well, the reason we do that is so that when we go in to battle we can easily remove any and all identification so that the enemy will not know your rank, unit, etc.
Why is this important? Well, if you are the enemy and you know who the leaders of the enemy units are (officers and senior enlisted), all you have to do is kill them off and the rest of the unit will probably fall apart. Also, it is an security issue so that the enemy will not know what units are in the area (ie the SEALS, Delta Forces, Force Recon, yada yada yada). Anyhow, that's the short answer to that question. Love the show! Smokey |

The new BDU's are called digital camo. I don't know if it's true or not, but the digitized pattern makes you look more like a smudge on the horizon. You blend in better.
The old camo were decent, but two things stood out. 1. If you weren't around anything shaped like the blobs, you kind of stuck out. 2. Black sticks out in most of nature. It's better then wearing say, blaze orange, but not much. |

Regarding the news story about the dog sexually assaulting the little boy....
The family wants the animal destroyed. When I heard of this, oh man. The thing about male dogs is that the penis isn't just like a human schlong, once the dog entered the boy's anus, the bulbus glandis would have swollen up, essentially locking the himself with the boy as he ejaculated, this can normally last anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour or more It would have done significant damage to the boy when it happened, but the dog cannot "lose it" like a man can lose an erection, so the act of pulling the dog from the boy would have probably caused more damage. Poor little kid.
