Yes, I fucking have an eating disorder and it fucking sucks. Maybe I'm annoyed with her because she reminds me of myself when I try to brush off the fact that what I'm doing is very unhealthy. Maybe I'm angry at the fact that I struggle with something that she finds so inconsequential.

Whatever it is, it hurt a little bit.

Bulimia has made my life hell. I get anxious at most meals, stress more over food than exams. In the last year and a half, I've had three cavities due to the stomach acid, gone over 4 months without a period, and sometimes find myself wallowing in depression or guilt over what I just had for lunch.

I hate it, but I do it anyway because like Ayn said, " it feels so good...clean."
I might just be being sensitive, but I just wish she hadn't been so nonchalant about it.

I do agree with her that the majority of teenage girls go through some sort of ED phase. In my group of high school friends, I can name at least 5 of 7 or 8 girls that either had an eating disorder or still have an eating disorder.

Ayn, I still think you have an eating disorder even if you're only making yourself throw-up once a week. You're doing it to make yourself feel better. It's part of your routine.

sorry to be so very serious.
She may be nonchalant on the air and frustrated off the air. She was also candid about having been raped. Not knowing her, I can't judge the level of her pain based on her behavior on the show. If she's masking and needs help, only she really knows. And besides, how she responds to trouble isn't for anyone else to judge. I was disturbed that Beth from Philly giggled like a little girl when Keith called her a fat fuck, but I wasn't personally offended by it either.

Then I sincerely apologize for doing that. In no way did I want to give off the impression that I could be wrong.

I felt compelled to comment on the great flow of topics, awkwardness and comedy in this show, I won't say its the best yet because keith might push some paper off a table in anger. So I'll just say, they're all great. And this one, is newly great.
Well put. '09 has kicked off with quite a bang in KATG-land.

I played doctor with a boy when I was around 7 or 8. I used all the tricks they warned me about in the "Good Touch/Bad Touch" program to keep him quiet about it. Our families are friends so I see him around here and there and I always wonder if he remembers. Super creepy and awkward.

I don't really remember. Probably a little younger b/c I was able to beat him up as a teeny little girl. I pinched him every single morning until he cried.

Hello, Mrs Robinson.

He probably does remember and I doubt he has any regrets until you go home without him.

The whole throwing up stuff being "clean" was probably the most oddly hilarious thing I ever heard. Maybe it's because I've never had an eating disorder and only threw up when I was completely and utterly sick, but it's probably the worst sensation I've ever felt in my body so far. Your throat gets sour, your mouth smells like shit, and you feel like you got kicked in the nether regions with a steel-toed boot. It sounds like a problem, but, I don't know Ayn and therefore I can't say for certain.

Anyway, excellent show--Ayn's definately a great guest, funny and, from the sounds of the earlier comments, attracts a little controversy, that should make for some interesting stuff to talk about, if the previous comments are any indication.

Maybe the feeling clean after throwing up thing is because girls don't really share the pain of being kicked in the nether regions with a steel-toed boot.
