That ad is especially fucked up because the highest rates of domestic violence is the fucking Super Bowl.

Also the Indianapolis Children’s museum got in trouble last year for showcasing a watermelon salad for Black History month. They hire cultural experts to design certain food items. People lost their minds to the point it was pulled and they had to put out an apology.

I remember that. It was so wild. People just see the word watermelon and go off.

To me the misstep with serving black cultural food is they should accompany it with how the food is historically a black food and how it was part of the culture

Totally agree. But also how do you explain the summer camp? Also what about how other cultural foods don’t need to be explained? It’s just interesting…

I think of your just serving fried chicken and greens then no need to explain, if your doing it for black history month then let's take the opportunity to teach why it's not racist and actually really important to this country

I try to say it as good as I can.

If I saw two food stands, one with black food and a mandatory teaching and a second one with let’s say Mexican food with no mandatory teaching of any kind I can’t say I would prefer the first one every time.
Even that it’s me, a person who tries to do the right thing s lot.

I hear you. Interesting. The summer camp did offer and explanation. Had extensive research and was to educate children and still got shut down.
