Yay, great show.

As for the seat thing: I hate when people recline their seats because I'm really short and the seat usually goes back into my head space / face. It makes me feel claustrophobic in some way. However, I would never actually get upset at someone about it. Dwelling on it is strange because everyone has the option to recline their seats.

I don't know if this is a Canadian thing, but very often someone in front will ask me if it's OK to put their seat back, and I always say yes because they were nice enough to ask. And it'd be kinda weird if I said no.

Bianca, next time your leaning a seat back and the person behind you huffs about it, just use the cancer card. “It sure feels nice to lean back with my cancer” or something like that. I guarantee they will keep their mouth shut after that.

It seemed like the Oscar! Oscar! song was new to Bianca. Isn't this the 3rd or 4th year for that song? If I remember rightly it started as Keith's version of a song Hugh Jackman or some other musical type did to open the show a few years ago.

Either way, getting to hear Keith do that song each time is the reason it's the most wonderful time of the year and if you haven't heard it before Bianca you could brighten any day by searching out the Oscar recap eps from the last few years to hear Keith's previous versions.

I sympathize with any and all claustrophobics, although when you recline your own seat so that both seats are reclined doesn't that restore the amount of head space to what it was when both seats were upright?

I "get it" is when you're in the very back row, since your seat can't recline to restore the amount of space, but the dude in the video just seemed like a dick, so I was Team That Lady.

I'm not on that guy's side at all. You're automatically wrong once you start being that aggressive, especially since the seats are made to recline.

And it's not really a claustrophobia thing as much as it's a short person thing. I don't recline my seat back that often because it's not comfortable to me. I'm sure it has to do with my height and the angle. If I recline more than 1-2 inches, it somehow hurts my back and neck. It's the same thing with those huge, reclining movie theatre seats we have now. I actually prefer compact ones. Pretty sure it's a height thing. Anyway, there are people who recline a lot further back, but they probably have long bodies.

Huh, I never thought of that but you could be right. I just figured everyone was more comfortable reclined but I'm 6'1".

While I think it's clear that using the reclining option on a chair that has that ability should be a given, it should also be a given that if you sit in front my 6'3 ass and try to recline only to find yourself stopping partway cuz you ran into my knees, that's on your ass. Dirty looks and repeated attempts to move the chair back won't do shit for you.

Simply ask the person behind you for their height and weight...
