I am similar to Newsy where it hasn't gotten better. One of the few things I feel I can do is prepare for is the recession that Elon is outright saying they want to happen so they can devalue the American Dollar. I'm planning to move in with a family member when my lease is up and save aggressively just in case.

One thing I've been thinking is it's not likely he'll last the 4 yrs, and then Vance is president. Mental decline, natural death, or murder... like fellow politicians or Putin taking him out when they want to transition to Vance. There could also be more assassination attempts from his own supporters when they realized he lied and made their life worse.

You’re keeping up with the news? I’m back to “don’t wake me up so till you can see the heading toward us” or “let me know when they’re rounding up the gays for the firing squad”. Other than that the only news I’ll consume is what I hear on podcasts. If there’s nothing I can do if rather enjoy my time with my head in the sand.

I was until yesterday because I wanted to know what to prepare for. Like listener Liz talking about getting the IUD updated even though it's not due, a lot of women are doing that in prep of their interest in banning birth control. Ignorance is a big part of what got us here and I just don't want them to get away with screwing me and others as easily. That being said, it is normal to be overwhelmed and want to tune it out and I think you should do that when you need to. Taking care of yourself is important. Just remember they would be thrilled for you to forever tune them out.

Yesterday I hit my threshold when I started seeing several new depressing predictions. It felt dangerously close to the conspiracy stuff my mom sent us when he lost in 2020. I'm stepping back for a bit and trying to redirect my attention.

I think part of the pain is feeling like nothing much can be done. So I'm starting to look for small step I can take (so I actually do it), and hoping I can turn the bad energy into action that feels like I'm helping. I heard I can join a lobbyist group that cares about the things I do, and they will do all that info stuff for you. They'll contact you to let you know what is coming up that you can contact your representatives to hopefully make an impact. I'm also checking out volunteer groups where I can do something maybe once a month. Little things like that for now.
