Functionally, the average IQ of your average human is 100. 70 is mentally handicaped, 130 is high. On that scale, yeah 30% retarded is probably pretty accurate.

That's truly sad, but not surprising. And I "scored" a 126 when I took an IQ test but I think most standardized tests are pretty BS, too. Trust no one!

an IQ test is like any other you have to study for it, i did a few at college for beer and mars bars, i think the army paid for it.

you sure as hell can trust many professional polls. sorry to put a pin in that balloon of paranoia. a lot of groups have a stake in knowing as accurately as possible what people think. other groups, like zogby and harris, have a stake in maintaining their reputation as legit. you get margins of error. you dont even get that with news reports or movie reviews.

and as laph was getting to, i think, an iq of 70 puts your around the bottom 2% of human intelligence if the test is standardized. the flynn effect, however, means that people might be getting smarter than when the test was standardized, so if this true, 70 means you are way dumber.
