Congratulations, Annie! You're very brave.

Talking to my daughter today (16 and I caught her with tequila a few weeks ago) and she said that I should hear what the OTHER kids did (trying to make tequila sound not so bad). I asked her what did they do, poop in a teachers desk drawer or something? She said, "No. They pooped in the principal's desk drawer.." Animals. Looks you are getting into teaching at the right time while all their attention is on the suits.

Anyway, a teacher that listens to KATG. That's hot.

Thanks ya'll. It's been a long summer/spring of applying and interviewing. Now I have 12 days to find an apartment, pack, move, and plan some learnin' for the youngin's.

Joe - I'm teaching high school English for now and English/Communications to come.

Cubby - It's in Indiana. Indiana rocks with innovations and responses to research. Not as highly paid as MI, but it's a flooded market up there.

Jw - Who says I can't kick my students? Hahaha

Coconut - I hope you didn't really say that and that ross is making that up.

Paul - It's very rare for me not to smile. I am pretty good at giving the stare-of-authority, though. I do have to toughen my demeanor a bit, but I've never really believed the bitch 'til christmas theory.

That is exactly what I teach: 9th and 10th grade English. I am also a drama fag since I help do plays. I flew Peter Pan last Spring and he threw glitter on the audience (but it was huge non-powder glitter).

Way to go Annie! I could never imagine being a teacher. I don't have the patience for kids. Wait, I wouldn't have the patience for the kids who didn't want to be there. The ones that do - I would have no problem teaching them.

That's awesome! As someone who just recently finished high school (off to college for Comp. Sci this fall) I can say some of my favorite teachers were English / Speech (is that what you meant by Communications?) teachers. If I had to give you any advice from a students perspective, I'd say be very responsive. Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoyed writing when I knew the teacher would take the time to actually read it and give me genuine feedback, and not just some bull-shit check-mark.

Hehe, good luck to you, most of my peers are assholes, but there are a few smart ones. You're a KATG listener though, I imagine you can take 'em.

Congrats Annie, teaching the future generation is a very noble job. I hope the KATG community influences your teaching.

Jebus save us.
